MMFF 2013 : Kimmy Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel

Although this Kimmy Dora movie is the third installment, it seems that it's actually supposed to be the prequel. I must admit that I'm a fan of the series. I still remember the tummy ache I got from laughing the first time I watched the first series on the big screen. Besides, I do enjoy Eugene Domingo's comedy. I can't miss this one as it's the last of the Kimmy Dora trilogy (Well, first, since it's the prequel.) Okay now that sounds confusing! LOL ^_^

Metro Manila Film Festival 2013 begins on December 25th and runs till January 1st. Sometimes it gets extended, depending on how popular the movies are. I hope that Kimmy Dora makes it big amidst the bigger movies showing alongside it. Plus, it also stars Sam Milby. The movie promises to be funny as well as action-packed.

MMFF 2013 : 10,000 Hours

Here's another official Metro Manila Film Festival 2013 entry called "10,000 Hours" that stars Robin Padilla and many more. It's another action movie and it really looks interesting. I want to watch it too!

Robin Padilla is no doubt one of the best action stars around. I don't quite recall any of his contemporaries who are still active in making movies. Anyway, one other good thing is that Bb. Joyce Bernal also directs this film.

The trailer really looks promising!

MMFF 2013 : Boy Golden "The Arturo Porcuna Story"

Now, this is one Metro Manila Film Festival 2013 film entry that I would like to see -- "Boy Golden : The Arturo Porcuna Story" ! The main reason is that KC Concepcion stars in another different kind of role! Wow, I've noticed that KC has the knack for doing something bold, daring, and different! I think I like it as it shows how versatile she is as an artist!

KC Concepcion recently won the Best Supporting Actress award from Star Awards for TV for her outstanding performance as Alexis. This time around, I hope that she will get noticed once again and get a nomination... and win (I'm wishing) for Best Actress.

Megan Young Fashion at Miss World 2013

#MeganMW2013 @MWPhilippines @MissWorldLtd

I'm following Megan Young's journey to the Miss World 2013 competition closely. I must say that this is the first time I'm doing this sort of thing. I haven't been much of a pageant fan until Megan came along. I guess I just have that much faith in her ability and chance to take home the first ever Blue Crown for the Philippines.

Anyway, one of the fascinating things I notice is that you simply get to love the fashion sense that goes with this exciting journey. Megan Young is so gorgeous and it's fun seeing her daily updates on her #OOTD (Outfit of the Day -- for those who don't know what it means). She actually reminds me of a live Barbie doll. >.<

From what I gather, she's quite lucky that a lot of Filipino designers have been very supportive and have lent a helping hand in providing her with nice wardrobe to wear on a daily basis.

Awesome wardrobe collage for Megan Young huh? I've seen her wear at least four of the wardrobe now. I wonder what more does she have to offer. I'm also excited to see her National Costume for the Dances of the World and the evening gown that she will be wearing on coronation night.

One thing for sure, I will continue to monitor the competition until coronation night on September 28th, 2013. Miss World 2013 will be shown on delayed telecast via GMA Network at around 10 p.m.

Want to send Megan Young your message of support? Visit her Official Miss World - Philippines Facebook Page...

Megan Young - Miss World Philippines Update

#MeganMW2013 @MissWorldLtd @MWPhilippines

It's been a while since I posted anything here. I guess you can say that life caught up with me. I've been quite active on my other sites, but I do need to catch up on blogging. What can I say? Sometimes, I just feel that I have not much to share so I'm quiet. ^_^ So what's new? Lately I've been a beauty pageant fan. Nope, it's not something that happens every day. I'm a believer in beauty but for me, beauty without substance is useless. Naturally, I'm referring to external beauty for real beauty isn't only skin deep.

Honestly, I have my qualms about being a fan girl once again. I still remember the last time I was passionately involved with a fan group. Boy, that sure didn't turn out too well. But I did learn some lessons that I cherish to this day. I suppose it was a lesson well learned. Well, that was some years ago now. I'd like to think I'm a lot older and wiser. I'm being a fan girl yet I know the limits. More importantly, I know the difference between reality and make believe. LOL! >.< I digress...

For now, I'm an avid supporter of Megan Young, Miss World Philippines 2013. I became a fan when I started watching her on this TV show that has already ended. I know of Megan Young from her various other projects. I know she's beautiful but I really started liking her a lot on that show I mentioned. Her aura is different. I wasn't exactly sure what but I know there's something about Megan that's definitely worth watching. So from there, I've learned that she has joined the Miss World Philippines 2013 as a candidate. From what I know, a lot of people have been urging her to join the beauty pageant, but that way back she said she wasn't ready. I guess she decided that this year is the time for her to shine. And shine indeed she does. She won the Miss World Philippines 2013 pageant -- hands down as far as I'm concerned. She has beauty, class and wit that is somehow incomparable. I guess it's just me, but lately I think she's looking more gorgeous than ever... like a Goddess. ^_^

Anyway, Megan is now in Bali, Indonesia representing the Philippines in the Miss World 2013 competition. In case you haven't heard, she has an Official Miss World - Philippines Facebook Page that you can join to receive updates from Megan herself. Just click on the link to get there. Below is her first update.... Tune in for more! >.< Good luck & Godspeed Megan Lynne Young!

Philippine Independence Day 2013

It's a regular holiday today here in the Philippines. We're celebrating the 115th year of Philippine Independence! Yey! What's more is that classes in the private schools just started last Monday and now, there's another break! Double yey! ^_^ What's next? Well, if you're living in Manila, it's probably Manila Day which is on June 24th.

Just thought I'd share this... I love the image on Google for today's celebration...

Happy Philippine Independence Day! May we all be truly free.......

KC Concepcion's New Teleserye

credits to owner of photo

Hey, I know it's a Judy Ann Santos teleserye, so like it or not, KC Concepcion may not get the most exposure from this upcoming new soap opera (teleserye). Nonetheless, after KC's stint as X-Factor Philippines host, I'm just as happy and eager to watch her on primetime TV once again. After all, it's been a few years since she starred in her last one -- Lovers in Paris (Philippine  remake).

screen caps from HKLM trailer

I read and heard that "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" (HKLM) will be coming out on June 17th. I can't wait to watch KC once again. (I hope the TV schedule won't come into conflict with my tutorial schedule though.) The trailer is promising, plus KC's character seems to be one of the show's antagonists. It would be great to see KC in a new light. I'm sure that the role is equally challenging. After all, she will be playing antagonist not just to any artist but to Judy Ann whom most people consider to be the teleserye queen on Philippine TV. I hope KC's role will land her a much coveted and deserved acting award! ^_^

Well, that's it for now! I'm just happy to be able to blog again. So many things happening all around... but only a few deserve to be mentioned. Till next time... ta-tah!

More Chinese New Year Comments
It's that time of the year once more... ushering in the Year of the Water Snake! ^_^ I can't help but wonder again what's in store for us all in this new zodiacal year. I read somewhere that it's going to be a prosperous year. I hope that it holds true for us all!

Here's something from me to you... I cooked this Chinese New Year's cake, more popularly known as "tikoy" in the Philippines. It's sticky and sweet and is said to bring good luck. ^_^

IF YOU EVER CHANGE YOUR MIND BY MARION AUNOR

Wow! The songwriting contest has been revived, dubbed P-Pop Love Songs. It's so cool to hear lots of new sound around.

If you ask me, most of the songs are being interpreted by well-known singers, except for two songs. One of which is the one featured above. I, however, like this song by Marion Aunor and think she has such a good voice. I hope her song makes it even if she's not as well known as the other artists. It is after all a songwriting contest, not just another popularity contest.

This song definitely gets my vote! ^_^

Earth Wobble and the Polar Shift?

Excerpt: "A US Navy warship that ran aground on the Tubbataha Reefs Thursday did not coordinate with local authorities about its passage, something that the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) said was contrary to the protocol among foreign and local ships crossing the waters near the World Heritage Site in the Sulu Sea.

“Why were they even near Tubbataha? The Sulu Sea is so vast, and it takes 10 hours from Puerto Princesa to reach it. Why couldn’t they see it when they had all the state-of-the-art maps and navigation systems?” said Jose Ma. Lorenzo Tan, WWF-Philippines vice chairman and chief executive officer."

Read more below...

I must admit I stumbled upon this piece of news when I read a comment on HubPages on one of the articles that I follow on a weekly basis. That particular article talks about "Earth Wobble and the Polar Shift" as well as a little known planet called Nibiru Planet X. No, this is not another one of those doomsday scare stuff. Rather, this is about being vigilant and opening our eyes to what's happening in our planet today. Hey, it's the only planet we have! We do gotta understand more about it -- its history and its relation to all the other heavenly beings in the universe.

Anyway, you've got to admit that we've been experiencing some pretty weird stuff like huge asteroids making a flyby, extreme weather conditions like that Australian dust storm, etc. Everyone's blaming climate change and global warming. But is that the only reason for all the cataclysmic events the past few years? I've been reading about weird earth booms in the US plus birds dropping from the skies. There must something more than meets the eye.

That's it for now. More updates to come. Be safe everyone! ^_^

Derek Ramsay Is Kidlat!

I stumbled upon this one and think it looks exciting... Derek Ramsay is Kidlat! Yup, that's another Pinoy Super Hero! The fact that Derek is playing the part makes it more exciting! I'm glad to see that TV 5 is taking good care of him. He's one of the more gorgeous looking leading men in local showbiz.

Kidlat stars Kapatid hunk Derek Ramsay, Ritz Azul, Nadine Samonte, Baron Geisler, Wendell Ramos and Christopher de Leon. The cast looks good too. I read that there's going to be a cinematic premiere on TV 5 on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 6:45 pm. I hope I get to watch it! Kidlat starts showing on Jan. 7th after Aksyon -- I think that's their news program.

Pretty cool! ^_^ Derek makes a yummy local super hero! Something to look forward to this January on local prime time TV!

Extreme Weather Events and Earth Changes DECEMBER 2012

From the YouTube video with the same title... Thanks to the uploader! Very good video that was put together. I wish local news would thoroughly cover or even mention some of these major extreme weather events globally. Are you even aware of some or most of them? If not, I don't think it's trying to scare us on whether the end is near. Well, sooner or later, the rapture will come. As to when that is, perhaps no one knows just yet. Major cataclysms have been part of the Earth's history if you look it up. The question I think is 'when will it really come?

No matter when... it's best to spend your time wisely on stuff that really matter. Plus, spend lots of quality time with family and loved ones. ^_^ It will come when it will come... just be the best person you can be and do lotsa good. Oh, and if possible, develop a deep faith. For now, let's just be informed and go about our daily lives. ^_^
