MMFF 2013 : Boy Golden "The Arturo Porcuna Story"

Now, this is one Metro Manila Film Festival 2013 film entry that I would like to see -- "Boy Golden : The Arturo Porcuna Story" ! The main reason is that KC Concepcion stars in another different kind of role! Wow, I've noticed that KC has the knack for doing something bold, daring, and different! I think I like it as it shows how versatile she is as an artist!

KC Concepcion recently won the Best Supporting Actress award from Star Awards for TV for her outstanding performance as Alexis. This time around, I hope that she will get noticed once again and get a nomination... and win (I'm wishing) for Best Actress.

KC Concepcion's New Teleserye

Hey, I know it's a Judy Ann Santos teleserye, so like it or not, KC Concepcion may not get the most exposure from this upcoming new soap opera (teleserye). Nonetheless, after KC's stint as X-Factor Philippines host, I'm just as happy and eager to watch her on primetime TV once again. After all, it's been a few years since she starred in her last one -- Lovers in Paris (Philippine  remake).

I read and heard that "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" (HKLM) will be coming out on June 17th. I can't wait to watch KC once again. (I hope the TV schedule won't come into conflict with my tutorial schedule though.) The trailer is promising, plus KC's character seems to be one of the show's antagonists. It would be great to see KC in a new light. I'm sure that the role is equally challenging. After all, she will be playing antagonist not just to any artist but to Judy Ann whom most people consider to be the teleserye queen on Philippine TV. I hope KC's role will land her a much coveted and deserved acting award! ^_^

I found this on twitter and thought I'd share it too! I watched this earlier in the night. So glad I tuned in just in time for KC Concepcion's segment with Sarah G. Looked like the two girls really had a great time in Brazil! And they're both Viva artists, I wonder if they would get a chance to work together in one project! That would be exciting! ^_^

I'm just glad to see KC guesting on TV. I don't know what her upcoming project will be after her X-Factor Philippines hosting stint. Her TV show with Judy Ann Santos seemed delayed for next year, if it will ever push through that is. Anyway, 2013 will be ushering in soon -- in less than 24 hours! So with that, let's just look forward to a better and brighter New Year ahead of us! ^_^

KC Concepcion Is Back as Palmolive Girl!

I've been looking for this TV commercial since it went live around a week ago or so. It's KC Concepcion once again as Palmolive Naturals Girl! Wow! I sure missed her esp. when she cut her hair, not that I didn't like it. In fact she looked great in her short hair! But now she's back! It's a good thing that she can continue being a Palmolive Girl although her hair is colored. I love the red hair though, makes her look more like a foreign artist than a Filipina artist. ^_^

What's next for KC? Her much-awaited teleserye comeback with Judy Ann Santos has been delayed. Boo-hoo! I'm sad about that. It really makes me think that the network plays favorites. Anyway, I'm glad she's also Tanduay Rhum Calendar Girl 2013. But I do hope she gets more visible on TV aside from her weekly stint at ASAP on Sundays.

Well, KC Concepcion is my favorite local artist and I've written a few posts about her in the past. The moment I saw the photos on Facebook, I knew I needed to know more. What was I talking about? Well, someone shared her photo as Tanduay Rum calendar girl 2013. There was a link to the Viva Entertainment website as well for the rest of the photos. 

I just knew I had to pin KC's lovely calendar girl photos on my pinterest board "I Love KC Concepcion!" Then KC shared some tweets on her Twitter account. Just had to share them here.

Apparently it's Tanduay Rum launch party for the 2013 calendar girl -- KC Concepcion! ^_^ I love the photos.. but I have two favorites! I'm trying to find out how to get all four calendars if possible. It would be a great addition to my KC Concepcion collectibles. <3 <3 <3

KC Concepcion : Upcoming New Teleserye!

While I'm eagerly waiting to watch KC Concepcion on TV once again -- right, that's X-Factor Philippines where KC is the host! -- I'm happy to have read that she is doing a romantic comedy movie with Derek Ramsay and Anne Curtis, entitiled "Nothing Compares To You" under Viva Films. Derek and Anne previously starred together in the blockbuster movie hit "No Other Woman." 

Well, I can't wait to watch "Nothing Compares To You!" ^_^

And just yesterday I believe I came upon news that KC will be starring in another upcoming teleserye entitled "Against All Odds" with a stellar cast to be led by Judy Ann Santos. It seems KC will once again be paired with Sam Milby. Wow! 

I'm just glad to hear KC's being given another teleserye after "Alta" was shelved. I was disappointed then, but am now looking forward to her new project! I hope it gets shown some time within 2012!

Oh and to top it off, KC Concepcion made it to #23 of "The 25 Sexiest International Actresses You Haven't Heard Of" on complex.com! They featured one of her photos from her Rogue magazine pictorial. Amazing! I'm truly happy for KC.. wishing her more happiness and success in her career and personal life! ^_^

KC Concepcion -- Cosmopolitan Philippines March 2012

Fun. Fearless. Female. Gotta love KC Concepcion! After her controversial Rogue magazine pictorial comes yet another surprise.. KC on Cosmopolitan Philippines March 2012 cover donning a two-piece swimsuit! Hey, it's summer so what do you expect? ^_^

If you're a KC Concepcion fan, like I am, you'd want to grab a copy of the issue. Read the interview of the "Great Miss Concepcion" where KC talked a little about her condo -- featured with pictures on Yes! magazine ( I will blog about this in more details next time), shared some of her quotable quotes, and revealed some of the lessons she learned about love.

 

The Quotable KC: 

On making her own decisions:

"I'm only human, of course, I make mistakes. But they're all part of my story. Build your own story and your own experiences to be who you are." 

 On friends:

"This situation made me realize that I really need to value my friends. I didn't realize it until I went through this whole thing." 

I suppose she was talking about the controversial split-up with her ex-boyfriend. It really seemed to have changed her. I've always liked KC Concepcion. I think I like her even better now. I haven't met her in person yet, but I would definitely love to!

As a parting note, Cosmo asked KC as to what qualities in a guy are now non-negotiable post-breakup, KC says the most essential one is honesty. "He has to be honest with himself first, " she says firmly, "It's the only way he can be honest with you consistently!"

KC Concepcion on Rogue Magazine -- I Finally Have My Copy!!!

This post is a bit overdue. I'm trying to post in bits and pieces as I try to get back to normalcy after quite a stressful weekend. Well, for one, there was the nail salon bonding with daughter. I actually bought the Rogue Magazine with sexy, daring KC Concepcion on the cover on the same day.

First stop was at a popular bookstore which unfortunately didn't have the issue yet. It's a good thing that the Booksale outlet in the same mall already has the copy!!! That saved me another trip! ^_^

And for the record... I liked the article esp. when I saw that the interview was done by renowned filmmaker Jose Javier Reyes.

I'm pretty sure that most of the much-talked about pictures can be found all over the Internet, but I took some amateur shots of my three most fave KC pictures from the magazine. I will share them here together with tidbits from the interview that I really liked! ^_^

JJR: You know, I've seen you grow up, and when I saw that interview... I understood that you did the best decision for you. Sometimes these things are so necessary. They make us stronger because -- in this business -- you need to be tough.

KC:  It's simple. No one was making it known that the relationship was over. So I stepped up to let people know the truth.

KC Concepcion -- VaVaVoom on Rogue

It seems the year has started with fireworks indeed! ^_^ I said 'Wow!' upon watching on the news on TV about KC Concepcion's daring magazine cover for Rogue Magazine. I remember that she has posed for Rogue some years back. The photos were pretty daring but not quite as daring as her newest cover shoot. 

Brave and bold... is this the "new" KC Concepcion for 2012? I read somewhere that there were a few interesting interpretations for this shoot. I must admit the speculations truly are intriguing, but nope, I won't go down that lane. 

After all, I welcome seeing KC Concepcion as brave, bold, and sexy... a welcome change from her teary-eyed persona on her The Buzz interview from last year.

KC Concepcion -- I Love Her New Hairstyle!

I know I've mentioned before that KC Concepcion is my fave local artist. I can't help but blog about how I love her new hairstyle. I know she's an image model for Palmolive and so usually sported a really long straight hair. Nonetheless, her shorter hair is such a welcome sight! I'm a huge fan of short hair for women. LOL! ^_^

I read that KC has signed a contract with Viva Entertainment. I guess she's ready for a new start. It does make me wonder if she's moving to TV5 too after her mom, Sharon Cuneta, signed an exclusive contract there. I would surely miss watching her on ABS-CBN Kapamilya channel. But I will always be a KC Concepcion fan.

I hope that she finishes her teleserye project ALTA. I'd love to watch her in another TV project after Lovers in Paris. Plus, since Viva Entertainment has come out with successful film projects for this year, I'm excited to know what KC's future projects would be. So far, Viva has proven itself as a starmaker with the likes of Anne Curtis, Sarah Geronimo, and Cristine Reyes.

PJ and KC Break-Up.. and Life Goes on...

When I thought about writing this post, I was thinking about how life does go on for ordinary people like me. Little did I know that it was true, as I will share later on towards the end of this post. True, after watching KC Concepcion's one-on-one interview with Boy Abunda on 'The Buzz' last Sunday, I was a bit saddened that my fave local showbiz celebrity couple PJ and KC (Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion) headed Splitsville.

The news has been talked about in most entertainment circle I guess and I've come across quite a few written about it on the Net. There was even one whole article written just to share about the different reactions via social media sites Facebook and Twitter. LOL! Talk about people being into rumors and gossips esp of celebrities' private lives huh? ^_^ It's as if our own lives aren't interesting enough! Well, as a fan and supporter of both these celebrities, I am indeed disappointed, but then that's life I suppose. Showbiz is showbiz.. things aren't always what they seem.. and fairy tales don't always have happy endings -- at least not in real life.. although sometimes you wish otherwise. 

Perhaps if I could rewrite a different ending to this story, I would have. But hey I'm just a fan, an outsider. As curious as I am as to the real reason of the break-up, I don't believe I really want to know. I'll still be here to support their individual projects. After all, that's why I became a fan in the first place. Their personal lives, as far as I'm concerned, well, it's personal and private! ^_^ And life goes on...

Here's the irony.. before I was even able to work on this post, I was called away by the sounds of fire trucks in my neighborhood. I rushed out to see what the commotion was about... Lo and behold! The building right across from ours was on fire!!! I tweeted about it and expected electrical power to be out in a few. True enough the fire was so huge it lasted till almost 6 a.m (almost 4 hours). We had to stay up to make sure all will be well. I certainly didn't dare sleep while a massive fire was raging just across the street. LOL! ^_^ My brother has all the pics and videos so perhaps I'll get some copies and share them next time around. At the end of the day -- or rather night, since the fire wasn't out till morning time -- we're just glad that all is well and we weren't in any way affected by it. And life indeed goes on...

 

 

I Love KC Concepcion at SEA Games 2011 Opening

This isn't the first time that I'm blogging about KC Concepcion. She is one of my most favorite local female artists as she's truly talented. Born and raised like a princess, KC is a National Ambassador of the United Nations World Food Program. She's truly admirable and amazing. I hope that one of these days I would also get a chance to meet her in person. 

So the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held its grand opening night in Indonesia on Friday night. (It's now early Sat. a.m. as I'm blogging this.) ABS-CBN Kapamilya star KC Concepcion performed in the opening number singing "Together We Will Shine" with Agnes Monica of Indonesia and Jaclyn Victor of Malaysia. 

I credit Sony Music Phils. for the above picture that I found. KC is lovely in red! ^_^ After the performance, KC tweeted, “Backstage i was just so nervous performing in front of an int'l crowd..but once we stepped out on stage, I was just so PROUD TO BE PiNOY! :)”

I truly love it! Here's a nice video I found that shows the performance... sit back and enjoy! I just wish the TV camera took closer shots of the performers. ^_^
